QTW News - Mar 18th to Sun, Mar 24th :: AGM Upcoming

Greetings!

Pride UBC’s Annual General Collective Meeting will occur THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 24 from 3-5pm in the Resource Groups Centre. This is the meeting where we vote in and welcome the new exec for next year! We have a grand total of 33 current positions open, ranging from events coordinators to discussion group facilitators to _______(if you have an idea for a new position that you would like to propose and run for, we welcome it!). You do not need any specific formal experience to run for a position, and for the majority of positions you do not need to be a current UBC student! A list of all positions and their responsibilities are detailed in our constitution: http://prideubc.com/content/constitution. Upon being elected, you will receive a continuity report written by previous exec(s) in your position. As always, feel welcome to email us with any questions, or drop by the pride office :)

If you are running for a position and if you don’t mind sending us in your nomination, please do so by this Thursday March 21. Just write out a brief explanation introducing yourself and why you would like to run for what you are running for. Sending in your nomination is especially important if you cannot make this meeting, because we can still vote for you by proxy and if you have voting privileges, you can vote by proxy!

Hello all!

I hope everybody is relaxed and refreshed from Reading Week! Now that we’ve taken a break from everything, it’s now time to get back into everything and already, we have TWO Pride UBC events coming up this Friday, March 1st - our Queeries Q&A @ 4:30pm, and then a Potluck Tea Party @ 6:00pm! Also! We are currently in the process of scheduling our Annual General Meeting. Interested in getting involved with us next year? Upcoming Events

Pride UBC’s QUEERIES & Potluck Tea Party!
Sharing is caring! Come join PrideUBC for Queeries followed by a potluck Tea Party, this coming Friday, March 1st! :)

Queeries is a Q&A panel intended to answer all of your anonymous questions in a safe, fun environment. Get all of your questions answered! Location for Queeries has yet to be decided, however we will send out an announcement about it ASAP (or, you can keep updated via the Facebook event!)

After that, we'll move to the Resource Groups Centre (room 245 in the SUB) for a Tea Party! Please bring some food or drink item with you for sharing! (If everyone brings chips, then we'll all be eating chips with our tea... so perhaps post in the comments section what you're bringing so there won't be too much overlap.)

I can't wait to see everyone there! :)
P.S. The events are open to everyone, so bring all of your friends!

Discussion Group Scheduling - Doodles!

Hello all! =)

I hope you've been enjoying your break - relaxing, de-stressing, seeing your friends and/or family again, and enjoying life in whichever ways you enjoy it. Just a few more days of freedom then we shall all return to our wonderfully grueling routine of school, work, etc. Fortunately though, this also means that Pride UBC's fantastic discussion groups are starting up again on January 7th! YAY! =D

As we have many discussion groups that could occur at various times during the day in the week, we would love your input as to what times work best for you. So, we've set up Doodles for the groups to help us figure out the optimal time for everybody.
The deadline to provide your input will be the night of Saturday, January 5th - just in time for us to send out our Queer This Week weekly newsletter.
