Welcome to the new Pride UBC!

Hello Pridelings!

Welcome to the new and improved Pride UBC web site!

After many years in the care of the old webmaster, the Pride UBC site has been transfered to a new server, had the back-end updated, and now sports a brand new look! It will continue to be updated and tweaked over the coming weeks, so if you notice any glitches or bugs, please report them to me (Cole) via e-mail.

In addition to the website undergoing some big changes, our mailing list has switched hands as well. We're now using GoogleGroups to host our mailing list, so make sure to join up if you're new to Pride UBC (Look for a link at the top of this page). If you were on the old mailing list, don't worry! Your e-mail address was transfered for you and you should already be receiving e-mails from our executive.

If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, check out our forum and let us know what you think!

Hope summer has been a blast for you all and I hope you're all looking forward to the 2009-2010 school year. See you there.

Is it the role of our education system to uphold so-called "moral" standards on the student body, or should our schools be opening, places of education and learning, regardless of sexuality, gender identity, race, etc?
Here are some event that have affected the schools at various levels.

The administration at Itawamba Agricultural...

"Pride UBC is an AMS resource group that offers educational and social services dealing with sexuality to the UBC community, including but not limited to students, staff, and faculty. Pride UBC provide support and information to those who self identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered; assists people who are coming out; supplies a forum for dialogue about sexuality; holds social events, and educates the wider UBC community about the variation in human sexuality. Members of the group come from diverse backgrounds and everyone is welcome regardless of sexuality."
