On the QT

If you're interested in meeting with others from our community for an informal and moderated discussion forum, please join us this season. On the QT is a great chance to meet some of your classmates and colleagues in a queer-friendly (and relatively discreet) space. Most of the participants are UBC based (students, staff and faculty) but respectful participation is open to all regardless of age or connection to UBC.

Every week we have some new faces join us for the first time, so if you have been wondering whether or not to take part, we hope you will feel welcome.

Even better, we begin each session with free pizza and pop!

An On the QT Crowd

Last year we met each week to look at topics such as:

  • Coming Out
  • Life in the Closet
  • Remembering Ourselves - A Look at our History
  • Kink & Eroticism
  • Homophobia & Safety
  • Pornography

We meet in room 200 (Thesis Defence Room) of the Graduate Student Centre (6371 Crescent Road) (see a map) Mondays during the winter session (September through November, and January through March) from 6:30-8:30pm.

There are many other topics we hope to take a look at this term. We welcome suggestions for new topics and are open to having guest facilitators if you'd like to lead us through a particular discussion. If you questions or simply have a good topic to suggest, please contact On the QT Coordinators.
