Yearly Events

Queeries: A Pride UBC Open House and Panel
Queeries is a fun and informal event where you get to ask questions, eat good food and have engaging conversations with others interested in learning more about the queer community! The goal of our panel is to provide a space for people of all experiences and orientations to share their stories, ask questions, and inform people about the queer community in a safe and comfortable environment. We’d like to reach out to people who might not necessarily be part of the queer community, but have questions or would like to be informed. No question is too silly!

Transgender Day of Remembrance
In partnership with fellow AMS Resource Groups, Pride UBC organizes memorial events for Transgender Day of Remembrance that includes a candlelight vigil, a panel & discussion, followed by food and refreshments.

Outweek
(Feb 6th-15th, 2012) A week-and-a-half-long celebration during February. Activities include talks, films, Queer U, fairs, and a big Queer Prom Dance! Watch for announcements.

Queer U
A graduate student academic conference on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. This event will be immediately followed by a Wine & Cheese reception. The theme this year is "Are We There Yet?--Questioning Progress, Rethinking Ideals."

Send your short (200 word MAX.) abstract to helenefd@gmail.com and jennifer.lundin.ritchie@gmail.com, no later than November 30, 2011.
