Hello everyone! Here is a great opportunity to get involved with Pride UBC and the Vancouver School Board:

We are organizing a community Outreach initiative which requires enthusiastic kool kats such as yourselves (or any other fellow friends you think would be interested). Basically, our volunteers would go to high schools and elementary schools and act as educators and peer supporters regarding sexual orientation and expression, gender identity diversity etc.

It is pretty informal and the VSB would love to have us involved so we can serve as role models (they want us to stress the importance of academics as well!)

Thinking about getting involved with Pride UBC? Well we’ve finally settled on a time and room for our weekly admin meetings. They will be held on Mondays 3-4pm in the SUB room 213( with the exception of Oct 1. in room 215). Everyone is welcomed to attend!

Hi everybody,

I am one of your Outreach Coordinators and we are looking for volunteers to join the Pride UBC Outreach Team, which is responsible for providing awareness in LGBTTTIQQ through info-sessions, panel discussions, and workshop series, to name just a few, to students in UBC (particularly those who are living in first year residences, Totem Park and Place Vanier) and in nearby elementary and secondary school communities.

Pride UBC’s first major social event of the year is a games night this Friday, September 28th. We’ll start at 4pm in the resource group area (SUB 2nd floor) and move to the party room at 6:30 if we need more space. Drop by any time. We’ll provide snacks, pizza, and pop. Later on, we can head down to the Pit Pub (after 8pm) if we feel so inclined.

The games portion of the event is non-licensed, so open to all ages.

Note: if you have any party games you want to play, please bring them along. Also feel free to post any games you plan to bring. Twister, anyone?

happening Monday September 17th @ 3pm. (At the SUB 245, it’s the
Resource Centre area on the 2nd floor)
It’s a great chance to get to know all the resources available on
campus and mingle with others. Don’t worry if you didn’t sign-up
earlier, everyone is welcome!
